Shopify bundle with variant options per item

A Shopify bundle with variant options is a fixed set where the shopper chooses a size, colour or product for each item before adding the whole set to the cart. In Elite Bundle Builder this is the multi-option bundle: it renders on your product page, uses your theme's own Add to cart button, and applies a flat discount at checkout.

Where it fits

  • Outfits: a shirt, trousers and a hat, each in the shopper's size.
  • Matching sets: a duvet cover and two pillowcases in one colour.
  • Kits where every part ships: a razor handle plus a blade pack, with a handle colour choice.
  • Any product set where the shopper should complete every slot.

If the shopper should instead pick how many and which products, use a build your own bundle.

How each option works

Every option is one of two modes, and you can mix them in one bundle.

Products. You pick several products and the shopper chooses one from the combined list. Add a product whole so all its variants appear, or tick only the variants you want.

Product with options. You pick exactly one product and the shopper builds a variant from its own Shopify options, colour then size. Choosing a colour narrows the sizes to the ones that exist. Combinations that do not exist or are out of stock cannot be selected.

Options can be added, deleted and dragged to reorder, and in Products mode the products themselves can be reordered. A bundle needs at least one option.

Sold-out handling

Unavailable choices show as sold out and cannot be picked, or you can hide them. If every choice in an option becomes unavailable, the bundle cannot be completed until stock returns or you change the option. That protects you from selling a set you cannot ship.

The discount

A multi-option bundle is a fixed combo, so there is no quantity ladder. Its Offer tab has one switch and one value: a percentage off or a fixed amount off the bundle total. It applies at checkout through Shopify Functions whenever the bundle is added, with no code and no minimum. Tiered discounts for build your own bundles are described on the bundle discounts page.

On the product page

The selector is placed just above your theme's Add to cart button by default, through the Elite Embed Core app embed. The button stays disabled until every option is chosen. The theme's price and dynamic checkout buttons are hidden, since the bundle shows its own running total. If you want the selector somewhere else, the Publish tab adds an optional app block to your product template in one click.

Design controls

  • Variant display. Fetch the option names, then give each one a label, swatch or dropdown style, with an image or colour per value. A Products option appears as product choices.
  • Choices. Per-item prices, hide sold-out choices, and the discount badge.
  • Branding. Colours, corner rounding, button shape, swatch and thumbnail sizes, per bundle.

The design and customize guide covers each setting.

In the cart

All chosen items land as one bundle line that lists what is inside. Inventory is tracked on the real products and variants.

Frequently asked questions

Can a shopper buy two of the same bundle in one click?

Not in a single action. Each add puts one of each option in the cart. To buy the set twice, the shopper adds it, then builds and adds it again.

Do I need to add an app block?

No. The app embed places the selector above the Add to cart button. The app block is optional, for custom placement.

Can I change a Label option to swatches after launch?

Yes. Open Design, Variant display, and switch the style. Preview before setting the bundle active. Full setup steps are in the multi-option bundle docs.
